Fibre Internet Installation
Please download, complete and email to csr@ehtel.ca
Signing the Drop Agreement is pivotal to receiving your fibre services. Upon reaching out and signing the agreement, EH!Tel’s drop team will coordinate the services with you and placement of the fibre lines. This gives our team opportunity to be on your property and trench the fibre line to your home or business.
Drop planning, is bringing the fibre from the curb to the resident’s home. A member of our drop crew will discuss the path that the fibre will take from the road edge (our vault) to your home or business. With your help, we can determine an entry point to the building. When determining an entry point, consider where you would like the optical network terminal (ONT), router placement, the closest electrical plug in and the thickness of the wall where the equipment would be mounted. Lastly, it is important to indicate to the planner any self-buried infrastructures that we would not be able to locate.
This can be completed in person or over the phone depending on your schedule.
Locates for your property will be submitted by EH!Tel once the drop planning has been completed. The return time on locates vary depending on the home location. The fibre drop installation cannot be completed until EH!Tel has received the locates.
The crew will use a subsite to locate any infrastructures on the property. (Gas, hydro, bell etc..)
The crew will then use a vibratory plow to bring the fibre along the decided path to the home. A vibratory plow is an attachment to a smaller machine that cuts a slit in the ground as it lays our fibre. The ground is then driven over by the small machine to ensure it is packed down again. The oscillation of the blade makes the excavation faster and more efficient. These plows will create minimal disruption on residential lawns. Grass seed will be laid down on any disturbed ground. When watered correctly you will never know we were there!
The sales team will contact you to schedule the completion of the interior install and welcome you to EH!tel!
