COMMUNITY NOTICE — CRTC BROADBAND FUND, CALL #4
Extending broadband to underserved roads across Bruce and Grey counties
EH!tel Networks is preparing a proposal to the CRTC Broadband Fund to upgrade or establish broadband infrastructure along underserved road segments identified by ISED in Bruce and Grey counties.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
What is Call #4?
The CRTC Broadband Fund supports the deployment of broadband infrastructure to underserved areas across Canada. Call #4 asks service providers to review road segments identified by ISED as eligible and underserved, and to submit proposals to upgrade or establish infrastructure serving those segments.
Our proposal
EH!tel Networks intends to focus our Call #4 submission on eligible road segments within Bruce and Grey counties. Our aim is to bring reliable broadband service to households and businesses along these segments that do not currently have access to it.
- Eligible road segments as defined by ISED, located within Bruce and Grey counties
- Focused on premises without existing or planned broadband service
- Coordinated to avoid overlap with areas already served, or soon to be served, by other providers in the region
- Applicant: EH!tel Networks LP
- Program: CRTC Broadband Fund
- Call: Call #4
- Target area: Bruce & Grey counties
WHY THIS NOTICE AND WHO IT’S FOR
A notice built around road segments, not a single community
The road segments eligible under Call #4 don’t align neatly with any one town or community — they cross multiple jurisdictions within Bruce and Grey counties. Rather than notifying individual households, which risks reaching premises already served (or soon to be served) by other providers, we are directing this notice to the municipalities and counties whose jurisdictions include the eligible segments. This approach follows guidance we received directly from the Commission on how to meet the engagement requirement for a program area defined by roads rather than communities.
SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK
If your municipality or county includes road segments within the scope of this proposal, we welcome your questions, comments, or concerns before our submission is finalized.
